precious metal clay jewellery

The precious metal clay ranges are the most recent jewellery I have developed, arising from experiments with malleable materials during the PhD :: I was particularly interested in aggregates and the change in design process as a result of the nature of working with these materials.

Precious Metal Clay is a relatively new material developed in Japan, and is worked like any other clay. When fired however, the organic binder burns away to leave precious metal.

The first necklace, made in 2006, has won awards from the Precious Metal Clay Guild in international competition, and from The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh. This work can be found in current exhibitions and with current stockists and is available for exhibition or individual purchase.
